Whether it’s an engaging conversation or having a good laugh, our caregivers bring their unique personalities to the Pelican Pointe community, offering residents an all-around charming experience.
Because our caregivers take the time to learn meaningful details about each resident, trusted relationships are formed, creating a foundation for a better understanding of what makes our residents happy. Whether it’s delivering them coffee in bed, reading them the newspaper or leaving towels in animal shapes on their bed, we go to great lengths to keep our residents smiling. This philosophy of personalized care makes it easier and more enjoyable for our residents to reach the goals they set for themselves.
With an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong management background, Todd Cole spends his time at Pelican Pointe putting systems in place to make the transition to long-term care for residents and family an easy one. He has launched three new signature programs that have been adopted by other communities, including: My Pleasure Committee, The Welcoming Committee, and Choose Yes.
Residents and staff alike are drawn to Todd’s novel ways of thinking and friendly nature. Putting the residents first is his motto; when he’s not volunteering to take a pie in the face on National Pie Day or sitting in the Dunking Booth during Nursing Home Week, he’s enjoying a beer with residents or taking them on a fishing trip.
In addition to having nearly 13 years of experience in long-term care, Todd is the Chancellor for the Knights of Columbus and has led several successful business ventures.
Director of Nursing, Shonnon Chenevert, truly has a heart for the elderly. She is a registered nurse with over a decade of experience in long-term healthcare. She always works hard to provide the residents of Pelican Pointe with exceptional care, while respecting their independence and dignity. Her wealth of experience in nursing, coupled with a passion for providing quality of life and respect to residents, is invaluable.
Shonnon’s desire for nursing was sparked through personal experience caring for her grandparents. As they grew older, so did her compassion and appeal to nursing. She is a reliable and understanding leader that cares for residents, their families, and her staff. Shonnon’s greatest accomplishment in long-term care has been to earn the trust of those around her, and she works daily to maintain that bond.
When it comes to navigating the long-term care process, Brittany Sebastian is a valuable resource to Pelican Pointe. Her passion to serve is seen in every step of the admissions process, and she is dedicated to quality care and satisfaction. Brittany understands that the transition to a nursing home can be tough, and this has been a motivating factor to help meet the needs of residents and families with love, kindness, and patience.
With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette (Go Cajuns!) and over a decade of nursing experience, Brittany brings a wealth of knowledge to her community. She’s had the privilege to care for some of the wisest and most experienced citizens, while working in an intensive care unit to educating other nurses as an LSU-E clinical adjunct faculty member. Brittany views caring for residents and the community as a privilege, and she continues to dedicate herself to the profession.
